Basil Holy

Basil Holy is a plant with purple stems and mauve flowers with a tinge of pink. It has a gorgeous scent. Basil Holy can grow quite large, so give it room to grow. The taste is often compared to the taste of cloves, with perhaps a touch of mint and a hint of peppery spices. Its leaves are usually used for making tea. In Thailand, it is used extensively in culinary dishes.

Sowing Time: February Onwards.

How to sow: Sow the seeds from February onwards 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in seed compost. Germination normally takes between 10 days to 2 weeks at 15-18C.

Growing Instructions: Transplant seedlings when they are big enough to handle into 3″ pots, for growing on. You can keep them in pots for the kitchen windowsill or plant them out in the warmer weather.
