Basil Purple Ruffles
Basil Purple Ruffles (Ocimum basilicum var. purpuraso) is a fast-growing plant that is very fragrant. It has a mild flavour of basil, with a touch of cinnamon. It also looks really good on your kitchen windowsill, as it is a dramatic-looking plant.
Basil Purple Ruffles grows to a height of 12″ – 16″ or 30-40cm.
Sowing Time: February Onwards.
How to sow: Sow the seeds from February onwards 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in seed compost. Germination normally takes between 10 days to 2 weeks at 15-18C.
Growing Instructions: Transplant seedlings when they are big enough to handle into 3″ pots, for growing on. You can keep them in pots for the kitchen windowsill or plant out in the warmer weather
