If you plan to grow this herb indoors, you can do it all year round and harvest it when you need it. Sprinkle basil seeds on plant pots and leave them to germinate. Cover it with a polybag and when you see the shoots, remove this bag and allow some sunlight and fresh air to reach your plant. 

Growing Basil

Ensure that the dirt is wet— the plants like dampness in the earth around its roots. So if perhaps you live in a hot region, use mulch around the plants (the mulch will help hold in dampness and stifle weeds).
